Hwy 24 follows a trail originally used by the Shuswap people as a trading route in the early 19th century developed by the Hudson’s Bay Company to bring furs from the Northern BC region to Fort Kamloops and the Columbia River. In addition to some of the best fishing in Interior BC, this route offers seemingly endless wilderness with boundless outdoor opportunities such as boating, canoeing, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, ATVing, swimming, bird watching and many other activities. In winter there is also snowmobiling, snowshoeing and ice fishing.
You’ll find this scenic route dotted with dozens of lakes, plenty of picnic areas, local cafes, quaint shops and other points of interest.
